Hungarian music is unique in the world.
In fact no other nation can claim that a key is named after it. Hungarian Minor is such a designation. All the other minor and major keys have monikers like Dorian, Mixolodian ,etc....
Another feature is the everpresent drone. Frequently in Hungarian folksongs there will a note or two droned or held throughout entire measures of music in the backround.
Also the meters are mixed like no other. Songs will frequently compound rhytms so that a measure of 3 beats is followed by a measure or two of two beats.
